Wait... I Won?

by SandWyrm

Mrs. Sandwyrm was feeling particularly generous tonight, so I got to head down to the North Store even though I'd already gone down to the South Store on Sunday. I didn't even have to ask, she just told me I could go. I love my wife!

Anyhow, I got there too late to grab a game with anyone else, so Gibbs (the store guy) agreed to play me with his Mech Eldar at 2K.

Indy 40K Tourney continued...

by: farmpunk

It's time to finish getting up the tourney report. I've been pretty busy at home and work. My game 2 was vs. Carlos' Tyranid list. I thought maybe I'd have a decent shot.

Nuclear Launch Detected.

By TheGraveMind

For those of you who don't know, Starcraft 2 was just released today. The sequel to one of the greatest (arguably THE greatest) RTS games, a decade in the making. Things like "Nuclear launch detected" are well known around the world from this game dating back to the late 90s. Even up to this current moment, SC1 has had a strong following. Very few other games printed in '98 can say it is still being played. In South Korea it is even a national sport I believe.

Speeder Name Poll: And the Winner Is...

by SandWyrm

Yeah, it figures. I put a joke choice in for yuks and 25% of you go and vote for it. Sheesh. Do you really want to try and figure out which Duran I'm talking about when I do my battle reports?

It Had To Happen Eventually...

by SandWyrm

Yep, it had to happen sometime. The Emo-Wing got called cheesy by some guys at the South Store last night after I slaughtered someone else's poorly built Marine list.

Balancing your Bugs

by Anonymous Foodie

Some recent discussions on balance and "what makes a good Nid List" have inspired me to utterly destro... erm... add my counterpoints to the arguments presented, focusing on my own typical 2000 point list.

MAXIMUM EMO ACTION!!!

by SandWyrm

From the movie that Jane Fonda wishes we'd all forget. I think the guys in the baby-bottle speeders are the new Dark Eldar. :)

Enjoy!

My winged Raptors

By TheGraveMind
So, Sandwyrm's Emo-wing BA army has made me decide to reveal my jump infantry as well. I've been working on these guys for a couple of months now. They are one of my many side projects. They started off as my Chaos Raptors, then the BA came out, and they got an even better calling. They fit my Draconic theme for my army, and will appear much more sinister than the Descending angels. They are the Yin to the Sanguinor Yang.

Playing a dead game

by Chambers

Ever since the second round of 'Ard Boyz (oh how I hate the intentional butchering of language, but another rant for another day) I have been feeling burnt out on 40k.

Naming the Emo-Wing: Nominations

As the Emo-Wing prepares for it's first outing, I've decided to get some help from theBack40K community to help me name my Sanguinary Guard squads.

Battle of the Bugs

By TheGraveMind

After Two wins and a Draw in the Indy40k Tournament, I was placed in second going into the third round. For a quick review, check out the past three games Here. So as stated, after three games I was going into the Fourth round at second place. I had been saying I was looking forward to facing one of the other Tyranid players. I can generally do well against other tyranids, and it looked like my list could handle what the other players had brought. Well, things aren't always what them seem.

WFB-8: Interest... fading... fast...

by SandWyrm

So there I was, actually interested in playing Warhammer Fantasy again with my old Dwarves. Then GW comes out with a $75.00 rulebook that's bigger/heavier than my Art History books in college were. No problem, I thought, I'll just wait for the boxed sets to hit this winter and pick up a mini-book for $10.00 or so off of ebay and then pick up the Dwarf Army book at the local store.

Then the FAQs got released...

Battle Report: Man Cave II

by SandWyrm

I've been in a bit of a gaming drought lately, thanks to the new baby and having to pay back Mrs. SandWyrm for letting me go to the 'Ard Boyz Semis. So when she started feeling cooped-up last Sunday, I had her set up a playdate with Mrs. Farmpunk. That way Mr. Farmpunk and I could get in a Man-Cave game after the kids had been fed and the Wives were finally relaxed.

The last time we did a Man-Cave battle, back last October, I squeaked out a narrow victory that literally came down to a couple of die rolls. How would it go this time? I was still stinging from the whooping Farmpunk handed me at 'Ard Boyz. Could I redeem the Tallarn 13th?
