Hive Fleet Indy Tourney Changes

by SandWyrm

Just got this from Aaron (Spanguatyrine):
Due to the overwhelming response to the tournament and potetially 28 players(27 are signed up now), we have decided to add a 4th round playoff round for the top 4 undefeated players. The prizes have been modified to include:
1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th (In playoff)

5th
6th
Top Painted 1st place
Top Painted 2nd place
Best Sportsman
TO Award
Bottom of the barrel Award

These 7 awards will be given at the conclusion of the third game and the playoff round will continue. This will allow for those who want to leave do so, and those who want to watch can.  We feel this is the best way to capture a top winner in 1 day. We understand you could still have 2 undefeated players and this would give 2 1st place prizes and 3rd and 4th.  In the event there are only 3 undefeated players the top rated 2 and 1 player as determined by overall victory points in the first 3 rounds would determine the 4th place player in the playoffs.

We have looked at several options to make this work such as changing the time, shortening the game lengths, etc, and feel at 1750 you will need 2 hours to properly play a great game. Thank you very much for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you on the battlefield.

  1. so how long will this go on?

will only the top players get that last round? does that mean everyone has to wait around for final results and to get the other prizes?

Your question is answered in the post.

7 of the Prizes are awarded at the end of the 3rd round. The top 4 Players will play the 4th round to determine the final winner(s). Nobody else has to stay unless they want to.

  6. my first question still is valid : how late will this whole thing go? will there be a dinner break for those in the last round before it starts?

  7. No. There is a 15 minute break after the 3rd round where the 4 will start. The time line should go as such

    Round 1 11:30 to 1:30
    Lunch 30 minutes
    Round 2 2:00 to 4:00
    Break 15 minutes
    Round 3 4:15 to 6:15
    Break 30 minutes-Prizes
    Round 4 6:45 to 8:45
