I am an agent of change. At work, that is what I do. I am a leader of people. By leadership my definition is, "Getting the job done thru others; willilngly". Making people change is too much like Hitler. But influencing others to change is more like Reagan, or might I say a carpenter named Jesus. Agitating for improvement to the things you love by being miserable or fixating on what's imperfect is a surefire way to end up #foreverunhappy. It doesn't take contrarianism to enjoy yourself while taking initiative toward positive change. It also doesn't take it in order to promote your ideas for change.

I didn't have to hate one little bit on NOVA 2010 in order to acknowledge my opportunity to improve on things for NOVA 2011, and same for NOVA 2012.

I'm more in Aaron's camp here, because I think you have to start from a place of positivity and happiness with the world, if your desire for change is ever to be fully enjoyed and embraced by the people who surround you.

Stagnancy is never good, but contrarianism, or vitriolic agitationis often far less productive in today's world than the pursuit of joyful enlightenment, appreciation for life and all the things you do, and pursuing a better future with a smile and deep desire to bring positive change to the world around you.

Edison didn't invent the lightbulb due to constantly complaining about the candle. He invented something better, and because it was better, people saw that. You don't improve things by complaining about the status quo. You improve them by being a leader, and simply making something better.Mike Brandt; mvbrandt@gmailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00818846784767602047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4519319818452068646.post-21682698265873476642012-04-18T14:57:32.294-04:002012-04-18T14:57:32.294-04:00Spag, I don't think that you realize how abhor...Spag, I don't think that you realize how abhorrent I find what you just said. If we all just 'enjoyed what we have' then there would be no progress in the world. No change. No improvement. We'd all be walking dirt roads instead of driving or flying.
