Well, The day has come.
The Back 40K is 1yr old now. It doesn't seem like it's been a year. (more...)
I started blogging as a way to keep in touch with my old group of gamers back in Champaign, IL. Blogging was also a way for me to chronicle my 40K gaming, and to hopefully see some development in my strategies and painting. It was also a way for me to keep in touch a bit with some of my old group at first, then it grew into a new online community.
I think I've seen improvement in painting. at least, I've painted this past year. I also think I've gotten better strategically. It's kind of interesting to go back and read some old battle reports, and see what I learned at each turn. I know posting can seem slow at times, but I'd rather have quality articles I'm pleased with rather than churning out sludge just to meet release "deadlines". I've seen some other, more popular blogs churn out flavorless articles just to have more stuff, and I don't want to be that type of blog. I throw away a lot of article beginnings. A lot of them don't even get entered into Blogger.
I wanted to say thanks to Ron over at From the Warp. The FTW group has been a great resource for me, Thank you for the work you put into creating a 40K blog network.
I also wanted to say thanks to Stelek for the entertainment and strategy. It's nice to read other people's thoughts in army lists, and gaming.
I also wanted to thank our regular readers. We Appreciate feedback.
Its a bit belated, but I just want to say congrats on the first birthday.
ReplyDeletePeople often dont realise how much effort blogs like this take to keep up, especially one as full as yours! I've enjoyed reading a lot of your stuff over the years, so keep up the good work!
I really appreciate reading the battle reports. It's kind of interesting to see how other groups run their mayhem compared to here. I wish I was more familiar with all the troops etc but that's my own failing, not anyone elses'.
ReplyDeleteYou're missed!
