Oh Really?

Word on the street is that this guy is a resin test-run, with the final plastics being a bit more detailed, particularly in the helmet.

With UK GD happening in a mere matter of hours now (okay, technically day(s), but those are measured in hours!), more of these are soon to be flooding the interwebs... but a sneak peak is always a nice heads up, innit?

Mud and Blood II

by: farmpunk

I must admit, I have an addiction. It started as something to pass the time.

Some of you know I play Flash games while I work.
I do Flow Cytometry, so I set up the run, and typically wait during the hour or two it might take to run the sample. During that time, I find games like crack.

Mud and Blood 2 is crack. A game that starts simple, but has a lot of complexity. It hits that strategic sweet spot, and the WW2 buff sweet spot as well.

Imperial Guard Artillery Company?

by SandWyrm

I thought I'd share an IG artillery list that I came up with recently for someone on Librarium Online.

Making of a GK force

 by: farmpunk

A while ago we were asked about making a competitive all GK list. I outlined that it can't really be done. There are too many holes in a pure GK force, that are MEANT to be filled by Inquisitorial Storm Troopers and Inducted IG.

I do think that with a little of both, you can end up with a decent list with some long range punch, some Melta goodness, anti-infantry shooting, some close combat ability, and maneuverability.

I'll go to 1500pts, and then take it up to 2000pts.

Cometh the Dark Eldar

By TheGraveMind
So yes I've posted three posts in a row now. I've been very 40k active this week. In all of my activity I came across some interesting information. The Dark Eldar are coming! The upcoming White Dwarf mag has the above picture in its back page. Gamesday UK is supposed to show off the new miniatures and other fun stuff. This is GW pretty much telling us DE are the next codex. I'm not one for rumor gathering, but this is from their website. This really doesn't mean much to me except I might finally play against these elusive creatures.

Two of my favorite quotes I found while trying to find anything else out.
"Fear not the darkness. Fear what the darkness hides"
"Play Dark eldar! They are safe from updates!"

To stop a Crusade

By TheGraveMind

Well, after my pity-party-post a few people had said they would like to get a game in on tuesday. It's good to have friends, and you're welcome GP south. The tuesday crowd has been slowly dwindling to 1 to 4 people on average, I think there were at least 6 this time. Besides the point, as I walked in, my first opponent seemed to be eagerly waiting for me. You may recognized the marines from Wienas and his Bloomington report. We agreed on 1850 to get me ready for my Bloomington adventure and to see how I could do against his list he had brought to down there the past weekend.

Training

By TheGraveMind
"Yo, Adrian!!"
So after almost three hours of Blogger hating me, (main frustration here), I'm finally ready to post. With all of the talk about the Nova open, and other big events that are/will happen, I've been thinking hard about my involvement with tournaments. Couple with the talks about an Indy GT, I've had some food for thought to say the least. For the past few years, I've joined in some tournaments that are hosted at the Game preserver south. Well, I'm working on a new army, with new tactics, and I'd honestly like to say I'm getting better at 40k. So I've been looking to expand my horizon of opponents and gaming locations.

Color Question: Marines This TIme

by SandWyrm

Hello Mr. Wrym and Company!,

I recently found myself reading your informative articles on color theory, manipulation, and psychology (that last part really intrigued me, and wished you had done a follow up...;)) by way of the House of Pain(cakes), and I also saw your recent post on your Sanguinary Guard's color scheme (which I like quite a bit) and I wanted to know:

Reader Question: How Competitive is the Emo-Wing?

by SandWyrm

Hey Sandwyrm

While having a look at your blog I encountered your blood angels, and to be honest I couldn't quite believe my eyes when I saw the list. A sanguinary guard army! With Dante
and Mephiston! What I was curious to know is that how successful that army has been for you, and whether it is competetive or not. To my mind it would slaughter elite armies, but struggle against hordes.

wienas plays in a tournament...and wins!

by wienas

I attended a tournament at the Game Preserve in Bloomington (home of Indiana University for the non-hoosier readers) this past weekend.  There were only around 13 players, and nearly half of those were from the Muncie area (home of Ball State University).  Among them were members of the Rites of Battle blog.
