"Be Careful Not To Start A Shooting Spree By Smiling Too Much!"

by SandWyrm

Man! All the cool/interesting stuff is hitting today! Want to buy a giant robot with a smile-triggered BB Gatling Gun? Want to control it with your iPhone too? A Japanese company can do that for you for just 4 Million Dollars (or £900,000 - wait! what!?! NO FAIR!!!).

Wyrd Moves To Plastic... And Doesn't Raise Prices!

by SandWyrm

Well now, this is pretty interesting (Thanks Uberdark!). Wyrd Miniatures has decided to shift their mini production over from traditionally sculpted/cast metal directly to digitally sculpted injection-molded plastic with no resin in-between stage. What's more, they're doing it without raising their prices! They're also being quite open about the process, which makes for some interesting reads as they describe how they decided on the path they did.

GW 2012 Financials Posted

by SandWyrm

GW has posted it's year-end financials for 2012. If you were hoping for any sort of dip in their sales/profits, you won't find it here. The numbers look pretty strong. Expenses are down, and profits are up. Particularly in North America, which saw the greatest sales growth of all their regions.

Foodie got an E-mail!

by Anonymous Foodie

I got an E-mail with a couple of good questions about Nids and their viability in 6th, so I wanted to share.  Fair warning, it's gonna be a bit of a read...

Hive Fleet Ragnorok - Ender of Worlds

by Anonymous Foodie

One of my earliest "all painted" shots - a paltry scouting force in comparison to the full swarm

Tonight I finally broke out the Tyranids for their first bout of 6th edition.  The first meal?  Necrons.

Going out with a bang.

By TheGraveMind
"There is much talk, and I have listened, through rock and metal and time. Now I shall talk, and you shall listen."
So 6th edition has been around for a bit now, and I've been mostly quiet. I've read through the rules many times, but haven't really bothered to play a game yet. I've been working on the hobby aspect of the game mostly. I'm not here to talk about 6th ed, at least not today. Today I'm talking about the tournament Wienas just ran. (link to past post) It was a 5th edition tournament and I decided to go out with a bang and play my tyranids. Wienas' Recap and breakdown

Anti-Paladin Tactic!!!! Oh yeah!

By Spaguatyrine

So as I continue to read the rules and re-build my list for nova........(grumble)..  I feel there will be a ton of Paladin armies trying to take advantage of the new 2+ fun.  I found a great tactic with the change of wording in 6th edition......

It's A Plastic Panther Fight!!! (Or is it?)

by Sandwyrm

Battlefront's John Paul has promised to 'think about' listened to their fans and compromised on their BF-only models decision for their own tournaments. But whatever comes of that (local money is was right on them switching to a percentage system as GW used to do), they're not relying on this ban alone to help fight off the gains that The Plastic Soldier Company has been making in the 15mm market. Because I noticed today that their latest update includes a new plastic Panther offering of their own. Welcome to the fight Battlefront! Let's take a look at what you have!

Battlefront's John Paul Speaks Up

by SandWyrm

I still don't agree with the new Battlefront-only model policy for their official FoW tournaments. After all, their openness in allowing other models to be used was a big reason I took the plunge into playing the game in the first place, and I don't think that it will accomplish anything but pissing off their adoring fans. But well... Battlefront still is not GW, and John Paul has proved it by commenting directly in their forums about the issue. It's thoughtful and worth a read.
