Spag TOed an excellent tournament last month, with Tyranids placing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place (daemons got 1st). After which He decided he wanted to test his tournament lists vs the new competitive tyranid build. I was happy to oblige.

Review: Mantic Enforcers

As most of you know, I'm heading up a group that's designing our own 28mm Sci-Fi wargame. As part of our testing, I want to have something different then we're all used to. A unit of Marine-Equivalents that's faster and less armored than a GW-style Astartes. So I decided to buy a few boxes of Mantic's Enforcer models to represent these. Their design has never really been my cup of tea, but they fit what I need. So what the heck, I'd see how good/bad they are compared to GW's products.

A few weekends ago there was a couple of Apoc games that went on. I managed to make it to one of these, bringing 4k worth of Nids with me. It was somewhere around 40 termagaunts, 60 hormagaunts, 75 genestealers, 20 warriors and 4 trygons. This is mostly what I have painted, and wanted to bring.

 I had purchased the new under-empire basing kit not too long ago, as I was looking for some good cavernous growth to use on bases. This is one of the new kits GW came out with, and they are priced $5 more than the normal basing kits. I figured I would go through what you get so those interested could see.

Which Game Wins On Complexity?

Brent did what he does best yesterday, by throwing out a hand grenade on BoLS. In the flood of comments about the 'success' of 40K, Zingbaby made a comment that 40K's rules have every other game beat on unit/weapon variety. I just can't let that go without a detailed reply. :)

A Plague and Biomass

I had recently gotten a game in against Nemisis and his Deathguard Tally list. Multiple objectives (3) and diagonal deployment. I got something useless on my Tyrant for a warlord trait, and I think his was something like scoring for his nurgle bike lord. This isn't his only practice game against Tyranids. You can read the battle report here when he faced our other Nid player. He rolled for his boon of mutation, got 2 boons, one being +1W, the other being +1T. Nurgle smiles upon his followers it seems.
