Dark Eldar 3rd Wave

This just in.  Awesomeness abounds.  A 3rd wave including DE Battleforce, Talos Pain Engine, Dark Cronos Parasite Engine, Dark Eldar Venom, and Scourges are all being released in June.

I personally see a lot of great ideas coming from the use of both "engines."  The scourges are fantastic and the build looks great.  i would however like there to be two Battleforces.  One with 20 wyches and one with 20 Warriors.  That way you can focus on one kabal more.  Kind of like what the imperial guard do with catachan and cadians.

  1. I was so hopping for a summer of flyers. I fall for that rumor every year.

I hope the venom makes it into the next Eldar codex. It looks lite on the spiky bits.

  2. Hell, I would kill for an Eldar open-topped transport of any kind. If one existed Harlequins would be leagues better and Howling Banshees would be playable.

The new models look incredible, the Scourges and Venom are my favorite. The Talos/Cronos look amazing, but Talos are pretty underwhelming on the field and honestly, IMO there isn't really a point to the Cronos because you never really need that many pain tokens. The first pain token is the most important one, and if you REALLY need a pain token ASAP it would be cheaper just to buy two stock Haemonculi.

  3. The pictures of the Razorwing (and probably Voidraven) were dug out as well:

  4. also a steady but small trickle of info has been passed onto me. there is a new ork flyer coming out, that from what i have heard will have the rules for it in an issue of white dwarf. much like the two eldar vehicles last summer. this flyer is different from the apoc flyers.

  8. I think the new models look awesome! As a former DE player, thats right the marines started with Xenos Kai you can now complain at me, I would have loved to have a plastic Talos. I loved that model last time I played that codex, but I never did get mine together...it just kept falling apart. I think by far though, that the models in the new DE range look AMAZING! And that is something shocking to me. I am still missing why they have not put out a new homunculous...and they need to give out a kit for the Archon like they did with the Space Marine commander. It would just make it so much easier for DE players to build and play them...instead of having to buy the husk blade soul trap guy. Who looks cool, but lacks the luster that he should have.

  11. I'm really running out of excuses. These are such fantastic models. I may buy some even if I never get enough for a full army.

  12. I hope the Necrons come out just as well as these models did. Makes me also excited for the next batch of chaos (wayyy down the road lol) GW outdid themselves with the Dark Eldar.

  13. Those fighters are some of the sweetest things I've seen in a long time (40K-wise). And the bomber isn't even out yet.

We've got a small, very competent DE base developing locally and I'm thinking they're going to be just giddy.
