Now I'm not saying this is the real deal, but BOLS just dropped the news, and linked this original post.
According to them, This picture and a brief intro into painting the storm raven was put up on the official GW website, but was quickly taken down. I have yet to hear anyone else attesting to this, but this picture seems very standard GW, so I'm taking this seriously. What is everyone else's opinion on this Version of the Storm raven?
Best part for me? I looks very similar to the structure of my storm rave I was working on. Oh ya, announcement, My next post was going to be me revealing my storm raven. darn, there goes the surprise of that.
Edit:: For everyone who is complaining how ugly it looks, now we have something to work with to kitbash. I know I'm going to convert mine to look more like the scratch built one I'm working on.

Looks more like an imperial trash-skimmer to me. Put your cans on the curb and don't get too near the front kiddies. ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's probably legit, but visually disappointing. I was imagining something closer to the drop ship from Avatar or maybe some of the mashups I've seen using the Aliens dropship.
It just doesn't look menacing at all.
It doesn't look that bad to me, just a little to compact. easy to transport though I hope.
ReplyDeleteI also don't like the guns on the top. as a drop ship, and being on a flight stand, it is going to be difficult to get shots with the gun sometimes. That is why mine has the turret on the chin.
If the turret structure blended into the tail better, and if the wings blended into the hull better, I wouldn't be half bad.
ReplyDeleteim loving it. it seems a bit boxey in the front, but i would just lengthen it a bit.
ReplyDeleteReveal your Storm Raven anyway. It's got to be better than the Emperor's VW.
ReplyDeleteThe turret's too small and out of place. The rudder is too low to get airflow and doesn't make sense, and the fuselage is way too small. Also, if it's going to lift off carrying twelve Astartes in powered armor plus a Dread, it needs to have waaaaaaay more in the way of thrust delivery than those weensy little jets.
Well sadly today is my long day at school. I've been doing this in between classes. Once I get home (10pm ish) I'll put up my own Storm raven probably.
ReplyDeleteIt looks too small, but all we have to compare it to is the Vendetta or Valk. I think they are too big, so maybe this is GW's way to try and fix that. Smaller footprint for easier game play. I cannot wait to start shooting them down with my Longfangs!!!
ReplyDeleteThis kind of reminds me of a Land Raider with wings on top.
ReplyDeleteBut in a good way
ReplyDeleteIt looks a bit meh, like the front of a thunderhawk, but then they forgot the back.
ReplyDeleteIs the dread in the background an old variant - has there always been a left hand power fist??
anyone else feel like it looks like a dust buster? and rogue, thats the new furioso dread.
ReplyDeleteI feel a bit mixed about it. I can see that it fits in with the general aesthetic of space marines, but it does look more ugly than the typical imperial vehicle. I was expecting it to be somewhat longer -- somehow, it just doesn't look fully capable of flight without some anti-grav device installed.
ReplyDeletelook at the upper left hand corner! is that a plastic furioso????!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just want the upper turret for Razorback conversions. It's the coolest part of the model.
