Well well well... Looks like the 40K rulebook FAQ just got updated too.
We're now at version 1.2
There's not too many changes. What exactly a "turn" is gets clarified (finally). You must now declare which characters are joining which units before deployment (ouch!), and yes, if a unit which is falling back gets tank shocked, they will automatically fail their Morale check. There's a couple of other small changes in wording to previous items that clarifies their meaning.
What's more interesting than the changes themselves is the fact that we're getting a small maintenance update pretty close to the last one. It makes me think that GW is committing itself to more frequent FAQ updates. Which is a very good thing. Go GW!

The only real change is that characters have to be assigned before deployment, which isn't huge but will be annoying sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThe what a turn is, is already very clearly stated in the rule book. Page 9, top right, second sentence. "Whenever a rule uses the word 'turn', both in this rule book and in the codexes, it means 'players turn', otherwise it will clearly state 'game turn'.
I really don't know why people have so much trouble with this. It is really starting to annoy me. Atleast now it is officially stated twice.
Maybe GW have finally woken up to the fact that they run the simplest set of rules in the tabletop universe - and that the likes of Hordes, Warmachine, Infinity and even Flames of War have been kicking out rules adjustment (on far more complicated rules) with efficiency.
ReplyDeleteGW finally getting it's housekeeping in order - yeah!
