Why. . . another Nurgle Dreadnought of course!
Man, I frakking love Dreadnoughts. Nothing epitomizes Space marines like a battle brother interred in a ass kicking, face melting mechanical hulk!
I don't even care about the fact mine might turn and torch my own stuff. Bloated and pustulent Nurgle dreads rampaging across the table? More please!
I wanted another one. . .
This time I was feeling much more comfortable with the green stuff. I was looking to do something a little more organic and "flowy", and to steer away from another Forge world copy. I generally try to stay away from tentacles unless it's something that is a full on possessed Daemon engine. It's just a weird aesthetic quirk of mine. . . for mortals touched by Nurgle I lean more towards fleshy and bloated. . . I mean really fleshy and bloated!
I just went to town on the green stuff and ended up with my favorite mini I've done so far. . .
A big "Fisty Spike of Doom" and a custom multi melta. In my mind's eye, I always see my two dreads "Igg" and "Ook" bouncing off each other as they charge across the battlefield looking for trouble. . .
Now if only the new chaos dex would give me drop pods. . . Mwuhahahahaha.

What's the only thing better than a Nurgle Dreadnought?

Glad to see you posting on this blog, Chad! Awesome work on all your models; probably my favorite Nurgle army I have ever seen! As always, the pictures do not give the full effect of seeing them in person. Let's see that Plague Tower!
ReplyDeleteI've actually been painting on that monstrosity the last few days. Should have some updated picture's in a day or two. . .
DeleteThat is one very cool looking Dread. But I have to ask, what is better than ordering one Relic Contemptor, receiving 2 and not getting charged for it? Happened to me last week.
ReplyDeleteI think you have me on that one, Oktane. . . let me know how long it will take to get the second contemptor shipped out to me. I mean. . . since it's an extra, right? :)
ReplyDeleteI love all your stuff and its nice to finally see someone have a love for 40k like you do again. Although I have to ask myself, if I played you, would I get Herpes after brushing against one of those Rhinos? lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks Uber. I believe it would depend on exactly what part of your body was being brushaed against the rhinos. . . .
ReplyDelete:)
My tenders of course? Isnt that how you move your miniatures where you are from? Thats how we do it in Indianapolis. Just ask Farmpunk. He started the whole craze.
DeleteThen wouldn't the question be. . . are you rubbing your tenders on your tenders?
DeleteWithout pictures you have no proof. lol.
DeleteSsssshhhh. . . our little secret.
DeleteAlso, I'm IN Indianapolis. Why haven't I been assigned tenders yet!?
Deletebeautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully disgusting!
ReplyDeleteYeah man, really nice looking Dread. Will be throwing you a shout out on my Blogger's Best. Truly inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI love the model. Your crazy good with that green stuff. The only thing I really have an issue with is the head. It seems a little out of place.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I'm not 100% sold on it either. The heads on the Dreadnoughts and the Rhino gunners are from a set made by Maxmini. Those buggers had been sitting in my bits box for months while I decided if I even really liked them or not. . . they seem a bit too cartoonish to me. Thought I'd give them a try just for something different when I was putting stuff together for the Indy open. I'm thinking maybe something a little more menacing looking. . . like the original head on my first Dreadnought?
DeleteNot bad, a bid cartoony for some, but I think you did a better job painting it than many people do. My Nurgle army has three dreadnoughts and I have a fourth one waiting for paint and probably better rules. I'm kinda on hiatus from painting and gaming, but I toy with the idea of a Chaos army filled with walkers. I've run three dreadnoughts and three spawn before when the current codex first came out, it didn't work well, but it seemed like a fun idea to try out.
