Interesting...

by SandWyrm

So I noticed today that GW updated it's 40K Tournament Circuit results. Here's how the different army books stack up as a percentage of first, second, and 3rd place winners:

Army Count Percentage
Imperial Guard 11 20.0%
Space Marines (all flavors?) 16 29.1%
Chaos Space Marines 6 10.9%
Eldar 6 10.9%
Tyranids 4 7.3%
Orks 9 16.4%
Black Templars (they're not Marines?) 1 1.8%
Daemonhunters 1 1.8%
Dark Eldar 1 1.8%
Total: 55

I don't put a whole lot of faith in this being a list of any particular army's "competitiveness", seeing as how very few events really are. But, it's interesting none-the-less.

  1. That sample size must be too small surely? In all of the USA only 54 armies counted? We should do a twitter/blog poll of polls to get some bigger /more accurate numbers somehow... or rankingsHQ needs to get some serious traction.

  2. While it is an extremely small sample size, it is about what I would guess in the rankings. (if space wolves are included with space marines).
though if this is the top three from each tournament, then only like 18 tournaments were counted. Is this for 2010 only?

Remember, this is only for their Vegas-qualifying events of 50+ players.
