Well now, I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere yet, but while I was perusing the GW website today I noticed that the pre-order page for the Dark Eldar is now up. With nice high quality pics of all the new minis.
I especially like the Lilith sculpt, which looks like plastic-level detail but is listed as being metal.
Looking at these pics, I'm sorely tempted to start a DE force, but I'm waiting to see how the new Grey Knights shape up first.

they went up last week. the preview codex copies should be in most stores this week.
ReplyDeleteThe only store's in the area high enough on GW's stock level to get preview copies are the Game Preserves.
ReplyDeletei built some of the warriors and reavers in my local store this week. the kits are an absolute dream to put together and bring a new meaning to the word interchangable.
ReplyDeletethe rules are very nice as well, with almost every unit having a concievable use.
Waiting for the codex to hit shelves. I've had a decent lookthrough, but not enough to form a list or even touch the fluff (though it seems little has changed... ish).
ReplyDeleteThen we will decide how we want to run things. Oh yes, we will.
Foodie, I thought you'd be testing out a new 5E list by now. ;)
ReplyDeleteTime to bring out the Hydra's and guard again if they are as strong as everyone is complaining about!
ReplyDeleteMay be time to bring back the Tyranids if they are as fragile as every forgets.
ReplyDeleteThough poison will mess up TMCs, I'll still torrent them down with mass fire.
Lelith looks kinda mediocre, but the rest of the models look pretty good. Sad to see that the DE Warriors aren't worshiping the Spiky Chaos God as much, though.
ReplyDeleteLilith has been painted mediocre, but the model itself is quite good.
ReplyDeleteHad I not had to go apartment hunting last week, I'd already have one posted. I may actually have enough of an idea to throw a (rough) hodgepodge together for funsies.
ReplyDeleteIn fact...
@SandWyrm: The problem is, at least for me, is that Lelith falls into the general "chainmail-bikini" school of modeling. I understand that they're Dark Eldar and they're pretty much non-Slaanesh-worshipping Slaaneshites, but you don't see any male models looking like centerfold models instead of somebody who's going to war. Hell, even the Wyches look relatively reasonable (for a cult of S&M gladiators) but Lelith seems stuck in the 80s.
ReplyDelete@DeadlyGrim
ReplyDeleteIt's more like a chain-mail sports bra, but I see your point. I just don't happen to mind it in thise case. Sex can be a weapon too, so to me it makes sense that she'd use her body to distract the lonely guardsmen that she then eviscerates with her freakin' hair.
What kind of products does she use on it, I wonder. :)
@CaulynDarr - not just GPs; saltire has the codex and some units
