Finally finished painting the last few minis for Adepticon. Once I dull-coat them, I'll be ready.

ReplyDeletei am planning to make my next army (marines) have a desert scheme similar to yours. did you ever do a tutorial on how you paint your men/tanks?
Excellent work as always!
ReplyDeleteNow the real question is: what are those two chimera chassis in the background....
As a matter of fact, I did once make a tank-painting tutorial:

As for the chassis in the background... Well old-timers may know, but I'll let the mystery persist for a while. :)
Very nice sandwyrm. Good luck at adepticon!
ReplyDeleteGood to see you got them finished! as always, great work!
ReplyDeleteIs that a primaris psyker?
ReplyDeleteSome great looking models, they must be an inspiring sight on the tabletop!
ReplyDeleteWhy yes, it is a Primaris Psyker. Insofar as I'm using a Sanctioned Psyker model to represent him (cause I hate the actual model).
ReplyDeleteOOh carapace armour - nice! I have the exact same psyker and priest models. I can never decide what to use the priest as though, his loadout is pretty goofy and it seems to confuse people when I have him as a regular sergeant.
ReplyDeleteAlso, are those some Hydras I spy in the background? :D
I use the priest as a company standard bearer. I just love the model.
ReplyDeleteHis plasma gun is painted "burned out" so that I wouldn't have to chop it off the model for WYSIWYG at Adepticon. It's a religious relic he carries around along with the bones of an old beloved prophet-commander. The plasma gun exploded during a battle (supposedly the work of an enemy psyker), killing the prophet and injuring the priest, who now has to carry it around.
As for the Hydra models in the background...

man those look great. i would love to play them tonight and beat them. ill be at the store at 5:30 at the latest. 1850 if ya want. btw though, maybe a brighter green, idk, maybe salamander green would work out better. ;) lmao
ReplyDeleteSorry, no can do Salapander.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Sandwyrm wants tonight off before I leave for 3 days of geeking in Chicago. Only way we could play is if you come over to the house and put up with the distraction of my kids.
Sandwyrm, awesome job as always. I especially dig the set back turrets on the Chimeras. If I get a free weekend, I'm going to try that treatment to cobble together some Hydras.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe just some red and black like all the boring orks!
ReplyDeleteRavishing! would love to fight them with my steel legion :P
ReplyDeleteDig the cut chimera sides...
Your freaking army is AWESOME! Blown away everytime I see it.
