So What Should We Call A Fan-Written 40K Alternative?

by SandWyrm

Now accepting nominations. Mine is simply 'M42'.

  1. Maybe Conflict M42. Keeps the Word, number and letter format like Warhammer 40k. Or maybe that's just me being OCD...

    I also like Nechaonid Eldarine Banana.

  2. I considered 'Warpigger 41,000', but decided that would only be funny for a month or so. ;)

  3. I see nothing funny about Nechaonid Eldarine Banana, sir. You have offended me deeply.

  4. I am offended at your offense. For I said nothing about Nechaonid Eldarine Banana, sir. For if I had I would have insulted it much more openly. :P

  5. before you jump into this too deep, consider one of the dozen or so comparable systems out there and look at porting the army lists instead. there are already a few fan made 40k alternatives, along with more established systems that might do exactly what you're looking for.

    don't get me wrong; reinventing the wheel is fun, but there are a lot of wheels out there you might want to look at before taking the leap.

  6. @steve - there's a ton of similar stuff from a ton of sources. There'll be plenty of stuff to jack material from, but that doesn't mean we can't try to come up with something of our own when we choose to as well.

    Damn you and your logic..

    @TheNeverThere
    That would just remind me of the movie every time I played. I just can't do that. I won't do that.

  8. Legions...

    I know it was suggested earlier that 'Legion'be used.

    By making it plural, in my mind, it encompassess the massive war, the battles, and armies that play out the saga (tragedy?) of the 41st Millenium.

    Either that, or called it 'Bill and Ted's Last Excellent Adventure!'

    I'll be in the corner dodging rotten tomatoes...

    That might get us a cease and desist from more than just GW. ;)
