Heh, rumors are fun!
Bell of Lost Souls is reporting the rumor (usually true when it's from them) that the Inquisitor Lord in the upcoming Grey Knight Codex will unlock Stormtroopers as troops, who are an Elite choice otherwise. These Stormtroopers (identical to the IG Codex version) will be able to take either Chimeras or Valkyries (not Vendettas) as dedicated transports.
Which I predicted months ago as Farmpunk will attest. :)
Anyhow, I think it's safe to predict that we'll get Vendettas in the Fast Attack section, and Storm Ravens in as Heavy Support choices. If we're really lucky, we'll get Vultures as a Heavy Support option too.
Which would make Grey Knights (with or without any actual Grey Knights) THE Air Cav army. Nice!
So if 5 Stormies with 2 Meltas still cost 105 points, and a Valk with rocket pods is the same price, that will be 235 pts. per troop choice. Using existing pricing for Vendettas and Storm Ravens, we can approximate a nasty little army list:

9 Valk models? I haven't seen 9 Valk models COMBINED... This won't impact my local meta. This kinda smells of the 11 Immolator foolishness :-)

ReplyDeleteI would love it!!!!! I only need 6 more and I am set!!!!! Yes!!! Of course I have to use the Captain Stern rules if those rumors are correct. I would love nothing better than to walk him up to someone's fateweaver and roll a you are dead on a 3+!!!!!!!!
