Shots Of The New DreadKnight

by SandWyrm

Here's some shots of the new DreadKnight that I took at the FLGS tonight. I like everything about the model except for the oval Valkyrie base and the pilot. So if I get one I'll be modifying it.

  1. I'm tempted to buy one to use the bits as rubble from a fallen dreadkights and basing materials. Probably won't do more than proxy grey knights, but if I did I'd probably have to have one because it looks to be an imposing model.

  2. Finally something for my Trygon to go toe-to-toe with (or is that toe-to-tail?)

  3. I don't like the pilot where he is. I would place him up higher and build a cockpit for him.

  4. I can't believe how much worse this looks than the penitent engine.

  5. I am not a fan of this model, but I'm sure very cool conversions will be all over the place.

  6. I've taken stock of all of my Ork vehicle bitz, when this comes out I'll be converting this thing into my next Deff Dred. WAAAGH!!!

  7. The mold looks great. I am going to probably change a few things. I am going to look at it today and the codex. I will probably change the sword angle to facing down to his right foot. I will also see if I can convert the terminator inside a little to a better pose and maybe even give him a weapon. I would also use the helmet off version.

I also have this idea of having 1 kneeling down with his firing arm out, 1 similar to the above, and 1 jumping over a rock or vehicle.

  8. The first thing that came to mind when I saw this thing: Combat Overalls

  9. Combat Overalls....lol

I don't think it looks horrible. I do think the Pen Engine still looks really cool. too bad the rules aren't nearly as cool as the model.

I'm going to have to go see a codex to make a judgement on the DK.

  10. @Spangy

I've been told (and noticed in the GW sprue pics) that the leg joints are all one piece. So bending them will require a lot of work. GW evidently didn't want people crouching this thing down for a cover save. :)
